Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman dies at 46

On 2 February 2014, Philip Seymour Hoffman was discovered in his apartment by a friend, David Katz. Katz and a companion became worried about Seymour when he did not pick up his children as arranged. They went to his West Village, Manhattan apartment and discovered the deceased actor on his bathroom floor. He wore shorts, and a T-shirt. A needle was lodged in his arm. Cause of death is an alleged drug overdose.

Seymour is survived by Mimi O’Donnell, his partner of 14 years and three children, Cooper (10), Tallulah (7) and Willa (5).

His family is devastated and overwhelmed by the global support and kind messages.
